"Crisis can be powerful fuel for the process of growth." |
Having been guided, cared for, challenged and taught by a rich variety of friends, mentors and teachers has done more than equip her for this work, it has transformed her into a counselor who has both skill and insight as well as profound empathy for another’s struggle.
Along with an education in counseling psychology and theology from Denver Seminary, Kerri has a wealth of life experience that guides her in understanding that the crisis that often brings a client into counseling can also be powerful fuel for the process of growth that characterizes us all as human beings.
A desire to support, encourage, and help to equip her clients for this critical journey is the key to her practice.
In addition to working with individual adults and couples, Kerri also enjoys writing, teaching, speaking to a variety of church and community organizations, and facilitating personal growth/support groups.
She works with a variety of issues, including:
- A need to understand and cope with difficult emotional realities such as depression, anger and anxiety
- Coming to terms with loss in a variety of areas
- Struggles with relationships, including marriage and parenting
- Pre-marital counseling and assessment
- Issues with communication and connectedness
- The ability to understand and practice healthy boundaries
- Overcoming the stuckness that comes with devaluing one’s self
- Shame-based and addictive behavior
In addition to her Master of Arts degree, Kerri is certified to teach the nationally renowned PREP© communications seminar that has helped hundreds of thousands of couples strengthen their marital bonds through better communication. She is also certified in the Prepare/Enrich series of couple assessment tools, and has significant training in Cloud & Townsend’s Boundaries materials and curricula.
