Clients connect to Lara’s compassionate and insightful style. She believes that productive, transforming counseling experiences result from a mutual relationship of trust between her and her clients that is based on a solid, biblical foundation. By challenging clients and providing genuine support, both individuals and groups encounter deep healing in their work with Lara. She is adept at purposefully guiding people into a deeper understanding of their issues and how those struggles surface in their lives and relationships. Drawing on her own brokenness and experiences in counseling, Lara connects and empathizes with the people who see her each week.
Lara earned her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. She then completed her graduate work at both Denver Seminary and the University of Northern Colorado, receiving her M.A. in Community Counseling. In addition to private practice she enjoys speaking to groups on a variety of topics and has worked in both church and clinical settings.
